First signs of Spring in Marietta Square

First signs of Spring in Marietta Square

It’s finally starting to warm up in Atlanta, and we finally have some bright blue skies! We decided to celebrate the beautiful day by enjoying Marietta Square. It seems most of Marietta felt the same way, because the Square was packed!

The first few flowers have just started blooming; it’s so refreshing to see flowers after a long, wet winter.

We enjoyed hanging out around the Square

We had such an amazing lunch at Taqueria Tsunami, a Latin-Asian fusion restaurant! Our waitress had the absolute best suggestions, because every single one of her recommendations tasted delicious. The avocado cilantro egg rolls were a delight. The tacos were so delicious, I completely forgot to take a photo of them! The dessert Empanadas tasted really good too.

Valentines Day Vickery Creek Hike!

Valentines Day Vickery Creek Hike!

This year, we decided to check out Vickery Creek. It has been years since we visited this park. We forgot about it until one of our coworkers asked us if we had visited the park. We had to go again and try to get some nice shots. You can hear the falls when you get out of your car. The creek is absolutely beautiful, with the bridge area providing a historic feel. The remaining ruins of the mill give an interesting steam punk feel as well. The bridge and waterfall was so interesting to look at, we spent the majority of the time photographing those spots.

I think this is my favorite bridge photo

But I really like this one too!

I really like this photo of Adam, it was suppose to be a settings test yet I really love his expression in this shot.

The view from the bridge was lovely. We really need to come back once everything is in bloom!

Enjoying nature for Valentines has become one of my favorite ways to spend it!

Baby it’s Cold Outside! Checking out the West Palisades

Baby it’s Cold Outside! Checking out the West Palisades

Having a three day weekend, we decided to take advantage and check out a local trail we haven’t visited before. At the end of the trail, there was a stone outcropping. Climbing it, we had a great place to eat lunch and enjoy a view of the river.

Did I mention how cold it was

While most of the hike was lovely, a few spots ended up being interesting and even eerie! It was fun to take a moment and get these shots.

I ended up really liking this one.

First Hike of 2016

First Hike of 2016

Last year, our resolution was to go outdoors more. Enjoy what nature has to offer. We found out we had lots of beautiful sights to visit within 30 minutes of where we live! One we visited quite frequently was Sweetwater Creek State Park. It’s where we started our resolution in 2015, so we decided to start 2016 here as well.

Sope Creek in the Fall

Sope Creek in the Fall

Creek at Sunset
We decided we wanted to do a short and relaxing hike near by, so we checked out Sope Creek again and took advantage of the fall foliage. We enjoyed a relaxing hike along the creeks edge and took several photos throughout. Also, when we went along the paper mill it wasn’t nearly as crowded this time, so I was able to get a few photos inside as well! It’s such a lovely spot to visit and I lucked out and got some photos I really love. My favorite photo I have taken so far is to the right. I tried out some new tricks and I loved how it came out.

Kennesaw Mountain Early Fall Hike

Kennesaw Mountain Early Fall Hike

The weather was starting to cool off and we finished our convention obligations, so finally, YAY time to go hiking again! We woke up late and decided to go up Kennesaw Mountain, since we hadn’t done that trail since winter. It was a fun hike and we decided to extend it over Little Kennesaw Mountain as well. Having been a while, the trip was pretty challenging. Maybe our eyes were bigger than our feet, but we got some great pictures!
